Dimmuborgir is a lava field located in North Iceland. This unique geological formation was created by a volcanic eruption over 2,000 years ago. The area is filled with lava pillars, caves, and other formations, making it a popular tourist destination. And these particular formations arose due to the collapse of a huge lava lake.

It is also home to numerous trolls. The most famous trolls are Grýla and Leppalúði which are the parents of the thirteen yule lads. They also own a cat and Grýla and the cat have a fondness of eating children. In Christmas period the Yule Lads start thirteen days before Christmas to come to bring the Icelandic children presents and potatoes if the behave not well.
