The Blue Lagoon is probably the most famous hot spring in Iceland. It is located close to Keflavik Airport and therefore it is convenient to pay it a visit either when coming or before leaving Iceland.

Even though it does not look like it at first place this lagoon in man-made. It is a byproduct of the close geothermal power station. The water contains a lot of silica which has showed to be a medical treat for the skin disease psoriasis. The white water within the black lava is a real eye catcher and a popular picture spot. But don‘t forget to enjoy the scenery while taking pictures.
