This building is one of the oldest buildings on the island and used to be the first birthing center of the country. Later on it used to be a library and now a days there is a museum about medicine in it.

It impresses due to the special look that suites the church close by. I think it is worth to walk to the place to catch the mystique feeling these buildings are expressing within the bay on the edge of the lava flow of Eldfell and in front of Heimaklettur mountain.
