Almost as beautiful on the outside as her sister in Manhattan, go admire Brooklyn Public Library. This Art Deco building was built in 1940. The most impressive of the building are the facade (designed to resemble an open book) and the enormous door featuring heroes of American literature, Herman Melville’s Moby Dick, Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer, Edgar Allen Poe’s Raven, and Walt Whitman.
