Hvannagil, also known as The Golden Valley, is a hidden gem hike in Iceland that offers stunning views and a sense of remoteness. Located near Staffafell and Lonsoraefi nature reserve, this lesser-known trail takes about 2 hours to complete as a round trip. The hike starts by walking through the dry river bed before ascending steeply up the hill for panoramic views of the canyon and surrounding landscapes. With minimal markings and few fellow visitors, Hvannagil provides a peaceful and adventurous experience for those looking to explore off-the-beaten-path in Iceland.
