Akureyrarkirkja, also known as The Church of Akureyri, is a Lutheran church located in northern Iceland. Designed by Guðjón Samúelsson and completed in 1940, this iconic church features a large 3200-pipe organ, stunning bas-reliefs by sculptor Ásmundur Sveinsson, and beautiful stained glass windows from Britain. The church also houses an altarpiece by Danish artist Edvard Lehmann and a baptismal font crafted by Florentine sculptor Corrado Vigni.
