At Hoffellsjökull viewpoint in Vatnajökull National Park, visitors can take a short 10-minute hike from the car park to enjoy stunning views of the glacier and the glacier lagoon.

During winter the lagoons can freeze, it is not recommended to walk on them unless you are an expert, people have fallen through the ice here and death is always a possibility. Phone service in the area is limited.
