If you're looking for a getaway in a quiet area in Bali close to some beautiful waterfalls and sightseeing spots such as Handara Gate, this is a great option for accommodation. Munduk Moding Plantation is a luxury resort located in the hills surrounded by rainforest. They have beautiful private villas with a few of them having their own pool and the main pool is high up in the clouds. They also offer different activities such as trekking, horse riding and tours.

What I love about this resort is its support for the locals in the area, they hire staff from the Munduk community. They also have the famous Luwak coffee, but instead of using caged luwaks like in most areas, they collect it from wild luwaks.

Do note that the area of Munduk is a bit colder and has more rain than the rest of Bali. There also aren't many restaurants in the area so we ate at the resort restaurant during our entire stay.
