Iconic Vancouver bridge with history

The Cambie Bridge in Vancouver is a six-lane bridge that spans False Creek, connecting Cambie Street to downtown. It's actually the third bridge at this spot! The first one was a simple timber trestle back in 1891. The current bridge opened in 1985 and cost a whopping $52.7 million. It's got a cool design with volcanic ash mixed into the concrete for coloring. Plus, there's a heat transfer station underneath that provides heating to buildings in the area. People love using it for running events like the Vancouver Sun Run. And hey, they even added a bike lane in 2018 because so many cyclists were cruising over it daily.
