Get ready for a walk that feels like stepping into a prehistoric world. The Pororari River Track guides you through a spectacular limestone gorge, where lush, subtropical forest clings to the cliffs and the river runs clear and deep. It's an easy walk, perfect for a couple of hours, starting right from the car park just a kilometre north of the main visitor centre. You'll follow the river, passing huge boulders and deep pools, with the path occasionally climbing for a better view before you can choose to loop back or return the way you came.
