Located in Notodden, Norway, Heddal Stave Church is an awe-inspiring wooden masterpiece often referred to as the most beautiful of its kind. Built in the 13th century, the church consists of three evenly-spaced towers and showcases remarkable wooden building artistry. Its design contains symbols reflecting the turbulent time period between Paganism and Christianity that existed at the time of its construction. Visitors from across the world come to explore its rich history and admire the exquisite architecture. Furthermore, there is a pleasant cafe located within the barn on the stave church yard called Kafe Olea and it offers tours of the stave church included in the ticket price. Heddal Stave Church is truly a site to behold and one not to be missed whilst travelling through Norway!
