Accessible by car, electric bike, bike or one of the many tours Dyea is a must see location when visiting Skagway. The drive out is a well maintained dirt road that can have some potholes so be careful! Whether a day trip or an over night at the campground or out on the flats this is a wonderful escape from the hustle of Skagway.

Surrounded by dense forests, towering mountains, and the tidal flats of the Taiya River, Dyea offers a peaceful escape into nature. Visitors can explore the historical ruins, hike scenic trails like the beginning of the Chilkoot Trail, or enjoy birdwatching, as the area is a habitat for eagles and other wildlife. The drive to Dyea from Skagway is an adventure in itself, with stunning views of the coastline and mountains. For those seeking a blend of history, nature, and solitude, Dyea provides a unique and memorable Alaskan experience.
