Fort Augustus is a charming village located at the southwest end of Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. With a population of around 646, this picturesque settlement relies heavily on tourism for its economy. Originally named after Saint Cummein of Iona, the village was renamed Fort Augustus after the Jacobite rising of 1715. The area is known for its historic fort, beautiful scenery, and the Caledonian Canal that passes through it.
