The Bogey Hole, also known as the Commandant's Baths, is a historic sea bath in Newcastle, Australia, thought to be the city's oldest European construction. Lieutenant-Colonel James Thomas Morisset ordered its construction around 1820 for his personal use. The name "Bogey" supposedly comes from the Dharawal word for "to bathe." Over the years, the pool has been enlarged and modified, becoming a popular spot for locals to cool off on warm summer days.
