Monument Lake Resort

Directions

Escape to the heart of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains at this historic lakeside resort. You'll find a perfect retreat whether you're casting a line in the trout stocked lake, paddling a kayak across the calm water, or simply relaxing by the fireplace in a rustic adobe cabin. The air is crisp, the scenery is stunning, and the pace is wonderfully slow, offering a true break from the everyday hustle.

Insider Tips:

  • We visited Monument Lake Resort in June. The weather was perfect. The lake was stunning. And the restaurant has shockingly good food, with a lakeside view.

  • The Caveman Music Festival is held here every year. It's the 4th largest music festival in Colorado! If you're into festivals, make sure to check it out.

  • There is hiking on site. And if you're lucky, you might even find some petroglyphs.

  • There is camping at Monument Lake. Reserve a spot online! Or test your luck with first come, first serve.
