You've found a local gem at Lake Irwin, a stunning alpine lake with crystal-clear water perfect for a day of paddleboarding or kayaking against the backdrop of the Ruby Mountain Range. It's an easy, scenic hike around the lake, especially in July and August when the wildflowers are in full bloom. The drive up is beautiful, and once you arrive, you're just steps from the water, making it easy to get your gear to the shoreline for a relaxing day of fishing or simply soaking in the incredible views.

Insider Tips:

  • This is top 5 campsites in Colorado (in my humble opinion). You will be amazed the moment you see Lake Irwin.

  • There are limited camping spots. Reservations can be made online. $24/night. But well worth it!
