I had never met a lake that changes colors... until I met Lake Haiyaha. A rock slide in 2020 left sediment in the lake turning it a milky teal color (prior to the rock slide it was a deep green/teal color). This lake is an excellent addition after the Dream Lake hike. Not recommended in winter for avalanche danger. But a perfect hike for summer and fall. Bring the family and enjoy seeing 4 other lakes on your way up to Haiyaha (hi-ya-ha).

Insider Tips:

***National Parks pass required: you will need an annual America The Beautiful Pass or a Day pass, which is available to purchase at the entrance or online ($30-$35 per vehicle). Timed entry reservations required May - October. You can make reservations at the recreation.gov website.

No Dogs allowed in national parks! Leave the pups at home for this one.
