The iconic Svolværgeita towers majestically over Svolvær, the capital of Lofoten. This granite pinnacle offers multi-pitch climbing routes on all sides, ranging from beginner-friendly options to challenging routes for experienced climbers.
If you're in decent shape, reasonably strong, and motivated, climbing Svolværgeita is a must. Many visitors consider it the highlight of their Lofoten trip, and many return to climb it again. The breathtaking view from the summit alone makes the climb worth it, which is why "Geita" is on every climber's bucket list in Norway. Join us and give it a try!
The adventure begins with a 45-minute hike on a well-maintained trail. The path is quite steep, but we take our time. The climb itself is undoubtedly challenging, but our guides will support you with helpful tips along the way. We follow the Rapell Route, which ascends the backside of Geita in two rope pitches. Once at the top, you'll be rewarded with spectacular views before rappelling back down.
This is an exciting trip and a great introduction to alpine climbing if you're looking to explore more climbing adventures in Lofoten!
