This is a very popular spot where most morning visitors gather to witness the spectacular sunrise at Pico do Arieiro. Pico do Arieiro offers a dedicated viewpoint for sunrise photography, called Miradouro do Juncal. This viewpoint is just about 300 meters from the Pico do Arieiro parking lot. To reach it, turn right at the big round radar and follow the narrow path eastward. The area is fairly large, and we encourage you to walk around and explore to find the best spots for photography. This location provides lots of opportunities to capture the beauty of the sunrise and the stunning landscape of Madeira.
