One of the most popular beaches in Madeira, which boasts calm, warm waters. Sea walls protect the swimming area from ocean currents and waves, making it a very safe place to swim. Swaying palms and rugged hills provide a picturesque backdrop, enhancing its natural beauty. The bustling promenade around the beach is ideal for a pleasant walk.

Praia de Machico offers more amenities than most Madeira beaches, including chair and umbrella rentals, and a variety of water sports. Several snack bars and restaurants, as well as an excellent ice cream kiosk, are conveniently located near the beach. Like Calheta Beach, Machico Beach was created by the authorities, who invested 3 million euros to import sand from the Sahara Desert.
