Overlook Point is a popular dispersed camping area near Torrey that offers stunning views right outside of Capitol Reef National Park. Even though there are a lot of existing campsites available, it can get crowded, especially during peak season. This is a great place to stay if you're looking for a free basecamp to Capitol Reef.

There's more dispersed camping even closer to the park entrance right along the highway, but you'll be right on top of your neighbors. The Overlook Point area is further off the highway and has plenty of rock benches and junipers, so there's some more privacy. As always when dispersed camping, make sure to pack everything out!
