Playa Castro is a small, local black‑sand beach with some rocky areas, so expect limited facilities and little natural shade and bring water, snacks, sun protection and water shoes. You can usually park on the nearby road or a small lot, but it fills up quickly on sunny weekends so arrive early if you want space. The sea can get choppy, so only swim when conditions look calm; it’s nicer for sunbathing, snorkeling around the rocks when calm, and a quiet break from bigger tourist beaches. There’s usually no lifeguard or many cafés, so plan as if you need to be self-sufficient. Its a bit of a walk down the beach through natural trail.
