A sunrise hike on Lion’s Head is my #1 recommendation for anyone with a sense of adventure visiting Cape Town. I’ve personally done this hike more times than I can count — 100, maybe? Standing tall at 669 meters between Table Mountain and Signal Hill, it offers unreal views of the city, beaches, and Table Mountain itself. Just off the trail that winds around overlooking Signal Hill, you’ll find a little detour to Wally’s Cave — a tucked-away gem that many hikers miss (but it’s worth the scramble if conditions are safe). There are a few tricky bits with ladders, staples, and chains, but trust me: once you take in those sunrise views, you WON’T regret it!
