What you’ll do

Waterfront, Dining and the South China Sea

Start: 10am at Lo Wu Border

Description:

The most relaxed day on the list. No electronics markets. No haggling. Just a skyscraper, a waterfront, a coastal park and a sunset over the South China Sea with Hong Kong visible across the water.

Full Day Timing:

🕙 10:00am — Lo Wu Border
Cross and take Line 1 west toward Luohu area.

🏙️ 10:30am — KK100 Observation Deck
Grand Theatre Station Exit. 96th floor. Best visited before lunch when visibility is clearest and the queue is shortest. Buy tickets at the desk. Allow 60 minutes.

🚇 11:30am — Metro to Sea World
Line 2 west to Sea World Station — approximately 40 minutes from Luohu area.

🍜 12:30pm — Lunch at Sea World Plaza
Multiple restaurants surrounding the iconic Minghua cruise ship. International and Chinese options. The high-end restaurant strip on the right side of the ship is your best bet for a proper sit-down lunch. Budget ¥80 to ¥150 per person.

🚶 2:00pm — Walk around Sea World
The plaza, the Minghua ship, the Culture and Arts Centre designed by Fumihiko Maki. Allow 60 minutes walking the area.

🚇 3:00pm — Short walk or metro to Shenzhen Bay Park
Sea World Station to Shenzhen Bay Park Station — Line 9 — 2 stops. Or walk along the coastal path — approximately 25 minutes and worth it on a clear day.

🌊 3:30pm to 6:30pm — Shenzhen Bay Park
15km coastal promenade. Hire a bike from the rental stalls along the route. Cycle toward the western end for the best sunset position. Hong Kong's New Territories hills visible across the water on clear days.

🌅 6:00pm — Sunset position
Find a spot along the western promenade. The Shenzhen skyline behind you. The South China Sea and Hong Kong ahead. This is the best sunset view in Shenzhen.

🍽️ 7:00pm — Dinner back at Sea World
Return to Sea World Plaza for dinner. The fountain show at the Minghua ship runs every 30 minutes from 7pm to 9pm — time your dinner to finish in time for one.

🌃 8:30pm — Sea World Fountain Show
Last show at 9pm. Free. Extraordinary at night with the ship illuminated.

🚇 By 10:00pm — Head back to Lo Wu
Sea World to Luohu on Line 2 — 40 minutes. Allow extra time. Don't miss the last train.

End: 11pm back in Hong Kong
