What you’ll do

A full day built entirely around shopping — from the border market to the world's largest electronics market to Shenzhen's most local commercial district. Budget finds, designer browsing and everything in between. The haggling system applies throughout.

Full Day Timing:

🕙 10:00am — Lo Wu Border Crossing
Cross early. Pick up your Shenzhen Tong travel card at the station exit.

🛍️ 10:15am — Lo Wu Commercial City
Walk straight in from immigration. Multiple floors. 45 minute browse — note prices, don't buy yet.

🍜 11:00am — Jingzhifang lunch
Inside Lo Wu Commercial City. Award winning. Don't skip this even on a shopping day. Allow 60 to 75 minutes.

🚇 12:15pm — Metro Line 1 to Grand Theatre Station
10 minutes.

🛍️ 12:30pm — Guomao Shopping District
Shenzhen's most local commercial area. Less tourist-facing. Department stores and everyday shopping. 60 to 90 minute browse.

🚇 2:00pm — Metro to Luohu MixC
5 minutes.

🛍️ 2:15pm — Luohu MixC
250 international luxury brands. More for atmosphere than affordable shopping — but the lower level food court is excellent for a break. Allow 75 minutes.

3:00pm — Coffee at Luohu MixC lower level
Rest your feet. Review the day so far. Decide what's worth going back for.

🚇 3:30pm — Metro to Huaqianglu Station
Line 1 — approximately 20 minutes.

🔌 3:50pm to 6:00pm — Huaqiangbei and Segcom Mall
Your main shopping window. Check 1688 and Taobao prices before you walk in. Use the haggling system. Test everything before paying. Walk through Segcom first to compare prices before committing anywhere.

6:00pm — Coffee break
Multiple cafes throughout the area. Rest before the final stretch.

🚇 6:30pm — Metro back to Laojie Station
Line 1 — approximately 15 minutes.

🛍️ 6:45pm to 8:30pm — Dongmen Old Street
The market is at its best from early evening onward. Street food stalls multiply. Energy builds significantly. Best place to pick up final budget finds and clothing.

🍽️ 8:30pm — Dinner on Dongmen
Street food circuit. Egg waffles, skewers, noodles, hot pot. Budget ¥50 to ¥80 — around £5 to £9 per person. Eat as you walk.

🚇 By 10:30pm — Head back to Lo Wu
Line 1 east to Luohu. Allow 30 to 45 minutes including the walk to immigration.

🛂 11:00pm — Last train from Lo Wu
Cross back into Hong Kong before the border closes at midnight.

End: 11pm back in Hong Kong
