April to October is hot and very humid. Temperatures regularly hit 32 to 35 degrees with high humidity. This drains energy faster than you expect — especially in markets and on outdoor walks.
Afternoon thunderstorms arrive with almost no warning between May and September. A small foldable umbrella takes up no space and saves your day.
November to March is significantly more comfortable — 15 to 22 degrees, dry and clear. The best time to visit for walking and outdoor activities.
Shenzhen's underground malls — Link CentralWalk, Luohu MixC lower levels — are fully air conditioned. Plan your midday hours indoors during summer months. Use them as your weather refuge.
Sun protection is essential outdoors in summer. Sunscreen, sunglasses and a cap.
