One of my favorite ways to show people the real Hong Kong is by hopping on the Central-Mid-Levels Escalators. It's the world's longest outdoor covered escalator system and it effortlessly carries you up the steep hillside, offering a fantastic slice-of-life view into the bustling streets, markets, and apartments. You can ride it all the way up in about 20 minutes, but the real magic is in hopping on and off to explore the cool cafes, old-school dai pai dongs, and trendy bars of Soho that you'll find along the way. It's the World's longest outdoor escalator — 800m uphill. And remember, it starts going in an upwards direction from 10am!
