Charming coastal hub on Stewart Island

Oban is the main town on Stewart Island and a small, friendly place with a relaxed vibe. It has a few shops, cafes, and accommodation options, and it is the hub for exploring the island and booking trips like boat taxis to Ulva Island. The town is surrounded by forest and hills, so even a short walk from the center gives you nice views and a chance to spot birds. Oban is small and quiet, but it has enough to enjoy a night or two while exploring Stewart Island.
