Oamaru is a small town on the east coast that’s well known for its penguin colonies, much like Dunedin. You can see little blue penguins coming ashore in the evening, which is always a fun experience. The town has a quiet charm with its old buildings and riverside areas, so it's always fun to walk around. It's also known as the capital of steampunk ! There is a museum on that if you're interested.
