Masterton is a small and relaxed town that is good for a short stop as you travel through the Wairarapa region. You can grab a coffee at one of the local cafés, check out a few little shops and enjoy a walk in Queen Elizabeth Park. It has a friendly vibe and feels calm compared to the bigger cities. There is not a ton to do, so you probably would not spend more than a day here, but it is a nice place to slow down for a bit.
