Driftaway Queenstown is a fantastic spot if you’re after a mix of convenience, comfort, and killer views. It’s just a short drive from grocery stores like Pak’nSave, so stocking up on supplies is easy, and the nearby Lake Pūkaki is perfect for a morning run before you hit the road. The campsite itself has plenty to love, from powered and unpowered sites to clean, hot showers that feel like gold after a long day of travel. There’s a huge collective kitchen if you want to cook your own meals, and the accommodations are tidy and well-maintained. Best of all, the site looks out over the lake with Queenstown’s mountains in the distance, making it one of those rare places where even simple downtime feels scenic. Plus, the friendly staff are always ready to help with tips on local adventures or simply to share a chat.
