Castle Hill, also known as Kura Tawhiti Conservation Area, is a place full of massive limestone boulders that look like they were placed by giants. It has a small car park near the main walking tracks.

The area has a special significance for Māori, and the name Kura Tawhiti reflects its cultural importance. A lot of signs along the tracks explain that, and also the formation of these boulders.

Castle Hill is also famous with climbers and boulderers, so you might see people scaling the huge stones.
