Mount Victoria Lookout is one of the best places to see Wellington from above. You can drive all the way up to the top and park near the lookout, or you can walk. The walk starts close to the city and goes through a forest, but it is a bit steep in some parts. It usually takes around 30 to 45 minutes to get to the top if you go on foot.

The view is amazing on a clear day. You can see the whole city, the harbour, the airport and even the hills in the distance. It is a great place to come for sunrise or sunset. The park is also famous among Lord of the Rings fans because some scenes were filmed in the forest on the slopes of Mount Victoria.
