Thunder Creek Falls is a beautiful waterfall you can easily see from the car park along the road to Haast. The water drops dramatically into a deep pool, and the lush forest around it makes the scene feel very peaceful. There is a short, flat walk to a viewpoint where you can take photos, and the falls are especially stunning after rain when the water flow is stronger. It’s a quick stop that gives a real taste of the wild West Coast scenery.
