The Kea Point Track is one of the easier walks in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, making it a great option if you want alpine views without committing to a long hike. It takes about 2 hours return from the village, and one hour return from the Whitehorse Hill Campground, with a gentle trail that leads you through alpine scrub and tussock. At the lookout you’ll find a wide platform facing Aoraki and the surrounding peaks, with the Mueller Glacier and its lake below. It’s a spot where you can really take in the scale of the mountains without too much effort. Early morning or late afternoon tends to be quieter, and the softer light makes the peaks stand out beautifully in photos.
