Located in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park the Tasman Glacier is NZ's longest glacier and is particularly spectacular to explore thanks to its ever changing scenery. This glacier can only be visited via helicopter on a guided tour and it is hands down the best tour I have done in NZ! We did a heli hike combo where we flew to the glacier and then explored for a couple of hours before returning, jackets and crampons are supplied and the guides are brilliant.

My top tip for booking is to book your tour early on in your travels in Mount Cook, that way if your tour is disrupted by the weather you have a better chance of booking.
