Cabo da Roca is located in Sintra, Portugal, and juts out into the Atlantic Ocean as mainland Europe’s westernmost point. The rocky promontory holds a soaring lighthouse that has been operating since 1772, providing a beacon of light for sailors and ships since that time. The rock formations, composed of granite boulders and interspersed limestone, create a dramatic view from the cliff face over 165 meters above the sea. Thanks to its remote location, travelers can experience a variety of migratory and marine birds, as well as numerous sea life forms like Carpobrotus edulis, an invasive species of succulent adapted to coastal conditions. Adventurers seeking exploration and breathtaking views should not miss a chance to visit Cabo da Roca!
