The Southern Great Wall, also known as the Miaojiang Great Wall, is a unique section of the Great Wall located in Fenghuang County, Hunan Province, China. Built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, this wall was used to suppress the Miao ethnic group and separate them from the Han people. With over 1,300 blockhouses, watchtowers, and gates, it served as a strategic defense line. Visitors can explore this historic site and nearby Huangsiqiao Ancient Town to get a glimpse of the region's military past and cultural heritage.
