You can mark sights, accommodations and any other destination and have the app navigate you there. Often, the maps even include hiking trails and little offroad paths through the wilderness.
The Park4Night app is a crowd-sourced camping directory. The free application shows you possible camp sites in your vicinity with user-generated descriptions and ratings. In a country like Norway, where wilderness camping is generally allowed, this is a great way to find a spot for the night.
This app is great for navigation on regular roads. It aggregates traffic data and chooses the best route for your particular journey. Keep in mind that you need mobile data to use the app on the go.
You don‘t need to be an ornithologist or obsessed with birdwatching to find joy in the Merlin Bird ID app. This mobile application helps you identify the birds you will encounter along your travels. You can upload a photo or enter the details of the bird you saw and the app will tell you the most likely match.
