If you’re looking for a breathtaking winter adventure, Rivière-Rouge is a must-visit destination. This hidden gem draws ice climbers from around the world, especially during the renowned Festiglace competition, where athletes take on towering ice walls and frozen waterfalls. But you don’t have to be a climber to appreciate the spectacle—hiking down to witness these stunning natural formations up close is an unforgettable experience in itself.

Rivière-Rouge is a city in Quebec, Canada, known for its picturesque location along the Rouge River. With a population of 4,631 as of the 2021 census, the city was formed in 2002 through the amalgamation of several villages. The city is home to the regional hospital, Le Centre Hospitalier Des Laurentides, and relies on the Mont-Laurier precinct of the Sûreté du Québec for police services. Rivière-Rouge also boasts two public schools operated by the Commission scolaire Pierre-Neveu, serving students from various sectors of the city.
