The Astronomical Observatory of Mallorca, located in Spain, is a cutting-edge facility that uses robotic telescopes to track and discover asteroids. Since its opening in 1991, it has identified over 2,000 asteroids, including ones that could potentially pose a threat to Earth. The observatory also features a planetarium for public events and educational programs. Unfortunately, in 2017, the observatory closed and went into liquidation, with its land being put up for auction.
