Welcome to one of Japan's three most important Inari shrines, a truly stunning sight built into the forested hillside. The main hall stands impressively on a platform of tall wooden beams, creating a view that rivals more famous temples. For a bit of a workout with a fantastic reward, you can follow the path of vibrant red torii gates up the mountain to the inner sanctuary. The climb is a bit steep, taking about 30 minutes, but the panoramic views of the city and the Ariake Sea from the top are absolutely worth the effort.
