Step into a piece of China right here in Nagasaki at what we call the 'Red Temple.' Built in the striking style of the Ming Dynasty, its vibrant, red-lacquered gates and halls offer a vivid contrast to typical Japanese temples. To truly experience its beauty, you'll need to climb a series of stone staircases that lead you up the hillside to the main grounds, where a tranquil atmosphere and fascinating history await. The admission is a modest 300 yen, paid into an honor box at the entrance.
