Come wander through Shinmachi, a neighborhood we lovingly call the "City of Swimming Carp." Here, you'll find colorful koi gliding through the crystal-clear spring water that flows in canals right alongside the streets. It's a peaceful sight, born from our town's pure, volcanic springs. The main street is a short, relaxing stroll, and you can pop into the visitor center to see the bigger koi and even enjoy a free, natural spring footbath. It’s a truly unique corner of Shimabara that captures the calm, water-blessed spirit of our town.
