It sits at an elevation of 2,218 meters and connects the Val Gherdëina in South Tyrol with Canazei in the Fascia Valley in Trentino. The pass forms part of a quadrangle along with Pordoi Pass, Gardena Pass, and Campolongo Pass. In the winter, it is a popular destination for skiing, with ski trails that make up the famous Sella Ronda route. The pass is also featured in cycling races like the Maratona dles Dolomites and the Dolomites Gold Cup Race.
