Beautiful gorge that was formed by the separation of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The park offers easy hiking trails that start from the visitor center and lead through the gorge, as well as other scenic areas to explore. Additionally, visitors can also visit nearby waterfalls, such as Öxarárfoss, which is located within the park.
