Flateyri, located in the Westfjords of Iceland, is the biggest town nestled in the depths of the 2km deep Önundarfjörður fjord, with a population of fewer than 200 residents. The fjord is renowned for its breathtaking beauty, characterized by towering tabletop mountains and pristine natural landscapes that are unmatched in their grandeur. The region is also home to some quirky museums that showcase the local culture and history in unique ways, adding to the area's charm and allure. Even by the high standards of the Westfjords, Önundarfjörður stands out as a place of sublime beauty and fascination.
