Albania’s largest museum, showcasing the country’s history from antiquity to communism inside a huge building with a striking mosaic on the façade. Inside you’ll find everything from Illyrian artifacts to Ottoman relics and WWII exhibits, with captions mainly in Albanian. Entrance is €5 pp, and guided tours in English cost extra. It can get busy in summer with tour groups, so mornings or late afternoons are the best time to avoid crowds. Closed until 2028.
