Fjaðrárgljúfur is a dramatic, mossy canyon off the Ring Road where you park at a small lot and follow a short marked trail up to several cliff-top viewpoints; plan on a 30-60 minute walk depending on how many viewpoints you visit. The trails are well maintained and easy. At the end of the trail you will find a viewpoint with a metal view area where you can see down the whole canyon. There are minimal facilities nearby. For the most striking photos go in summer for lush green moss, but be ready for rapidly changing weather any time of year.
