Puerto Natales is a city in Chilean Patagonia, known for being the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park. Founded in 1911, it was once a hub for the sheep industry but has now become a bustling tourist destination. With stunning views of Última Esperanza Sound and surrounded by the Cerro Benitez peaks, Puerto Natales offers a range of activities from boat trips through the fjords to horseback riding and kayaking expeditions. The city boasts numerous camping sites, hostels, and restaurants, making it a popular base for exploring the natural wonders of the region. A lot of people stay in Puerto Natales if they are budget travelling and just go in to the park everyday. It is about a 1 hour drive from Torres del Paine.
